Small Garden Design in London

See some small gardens we’ve designed and built

Argyll Road

A perfect garden for entertaining or enjoying in private

This garden was designed to complement the architecturally designed interior of this Kensington house. The dramatic effect created by the contrasting chestnut Eroko wood inlaid into the limestone paving draws your eye up the timber faced steps to the glass-bordered terrace on the upper level. The trellis creates a contemporary screen to enhance the privacy of this secluded garden.

Scarsdale Villas

A contemporary courtyard garden and roof terrace

The dramatic wall of glass at the rear of this Kensington property turns the garden into a stage. The architectural design of the espaliered trees and pebble rills through the slate paving draw your eye to the bronze sculpture in front of the rear wall.

On the roof terrace, beautiful bespoke louvre screen panels surround the entrance, whilst the bleached hardwood flooring and grassy container planting lend something of a coastal ambience.

Berber Road

A small back garden design making creative use of limited space

Our design for this small rear garden in Clapham is classic but soft. The planting for the herbaceous borders is themed for lime greens and delicate whites, and is set off by the bespoke cedar trellis along the perimeter. Meanwhile, the elegant curved bench backed by the raised bed makes a lovely spot to sit.

Drayton Gardens

Simple and exquisite planting makes for an attractive, low-maintenance garden

This Chelsea townhouse had a glass cube extension added at the rear by London architect Stephen Turvil, and to complement it we designed a beautiful lower bench area, backed with black lilies and phylostachus negra bamboo. Steps lead up to the ground level which is clad in stunning fossilised sandstone, while the slightly raised eating area is decked with hardwood and framed by softly moving step-through grasses. A garden that will be attractive all year round.

Chatsworth Way

A small back garden design with a geometric and modern approach

Strong lines divide this garden into different areas. The pebbled area is planted with a selection of grasses and ferns, while the decked area offers an opportunity for al fresco dining. Finally, the artificial grass deliniates the solarium with lying chairs for enjoying sunny days.
