Evelyn Road

A small contemporary garden using complementary shapes

For this small back garden, we created a feature of staggered stepping-stones which bisect it diagonally and create an illusion of greater width to the space. Buff porcelain paving adjacent to the rear of the house provides a comfortable dining area, while angular, softly-planted beds complement the hard landscaping.

The porcelain steps set in gravel lead to a decked seating area at the rear, with the boards laid at opposing angles to create interest. Around the firepit, a floating bench provides the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the garden. Meanwhile, the feature lighting nestled in the beds illuminates the planting and gives a beautiful effect during the hours of darkness.

Augustus Road

A sloping back garden of separate rooms

This garden design emphasises natural materials and uses vibrant planting to frame the different spaces. Beautiful nuanced blues and purples combine with the colourful furniture to create a lively impact.

The decked terrace by the house features a barbecue and a partly recessed hot tub, well placed for catching the scents from the abundant planting in the two nearby raised beds. Steps between them beckon you down to the lower deck and dining area.

Beyond, the lush lawn leads down to a snug seating area with space for a fire pit, perfect for contemplation or a relaxing evening.

Clement Road SW19

A north-facing garden for relaxing and family dining
For this garden in Wimbledon we created borders of voluptuous colour and texture to frame the lawn. The design of the terrace is a pleasing juxtaposition of stone and wood and is set off by elegant grasses and skylights.
